Diana Pho

Diana M. Pho is a Hugo Award-nominated editor, who has worked in the publishing industry under various hats for the past decade. Books she had acquired have gone on to win the Thriller Award (Steeplejack by A.J. Hartley, for Best YA), and the Ditmar Award (Crossroads of Canopy by Thoraiya Dyer, for Best Novel) and to become finalists for the Nebula Award, Lambda Literary Award, Shirley Jackson Award, Compton Crook Award, and Andre Norton Award for Young Adult.

Diana acquires adult, young adult, novellas, and graphic novels across the diverse range of speculative fiction.

Diana is actively seeking upmarket and commercial speculative stories. High on her priorities are multicultural narratives featuring authentic characters who portray experiences from the margins. Stories with a strong commercial hook or interrogate sociopolitical topics are her jam. She also loves writing that’s rich with aesthetic style, complicated characters, and layered worldbuilding.

For science fiction, she is seeking stories about the near-future, space adventure, cyberpunk, afrofuturism, transhumanism or the singularity, and positive climate science fiction. On the fantasy side, she enjoys historicals (with a soft spot for Russian-inspired fiction), steampunk, alternate history, dark fantasy, and contemporary fantasy.
