Jennifer Donovan is an Assistant Editor at St. Martin’s Press, acquiring for both SMP and Minotaur. Prior to her current position, she was an Editorial Assistant at the industry blogs Publishing Trendsetter and Publishing Trends as well as the Office Manager at the publishing consulting firm Market Partners International. Jennifer began her publishing career while completing her degrees in English and Journalism at New York University by interning at Dorling Kindersley, Viking, Dutton, and Folio Literary Management. She is currently building her list while assisting two executive editors with the editing of their wide-ranging lists.
 
Jennifer is interested in commercial adult fiction falling in the mystery, action/adventure-heavy thriller, and magical realism categories. She’s particularly interested in manuscripts with complex heroes, imaginative world-building, and strong casts of characters. For nonfiction, she’s drawn to sports stories, humorous nonfiction on serious topics (think Mary Roach), and in-depth studies of interesting subcultures. She’s not the right fit for children’s, psychological thrillers, domestic suspense, or literary fiction.
