In this session, we'll discuss how to create relatable characters by analyzing the anatomy of emotional truth. After examining three kinds of truth: personal or experiential, community or social, and scientific or objective, we’ll assess pertinent facts about people (demographics) and their values (psychographics). We’ll also discuss integrating non-verbal cues such as body language, appearance, and communication style. You’ll be able to use a two-step approach to creating characters based on emotional truth, and those are the people that connect with readers on a deep, meaningful basis.
