Mastering Query Letters

Writing a query letter is the first to getting published, but it's not an easy one. There are so many rules to them that at first it seems impossible to understand how to apply the formula to your book. But worry not, in this workshop, we'll talk about the "rules" for a perfect pitch, why they exist, and will spend time on hooks, comp titles, which metadata works best for your book, and how to talk about your platform. This session will cover query letters for fiction and nonfiction, and will touch on many points that will be discussed in more depth in the rest of the Publishing Business breakout sessions.
