What's Next? A Guide to Choosing Your Editor

This session concentrates on the three primary types of editing: developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing. Attendees will be taught about the expectations of each type, their general cost, and also how to determine which edit their manuscript needs. Additionally, this presentation will cover what industry professionals are looking for from querying authors, and how the author's goal of traditional, indie, or self publication will influence their choice of editor and editing style. By attending this session, writers will become more informed on the modern realities of the publishing industry, how to navigate the varied and often expensive world of editing, and how to determine which course of action is right for their completed manuscript.
