Kara Gebhart Uhl has been writing and editing professionally for more than 20 years, working for book publishers, magazines, ad agencies, universities, companies, and blogs. She’s managing editor at Lost Art Press, contributing editor at Writer’s Digest magazine, and managing editor of Mount St. Joseph University’s annual alumni magazine. She’s also the author of a children’s book, Cadi & the Cursed Oak, illustrated by Elin Manon. Kara’s wide range of freelance clients also include Edible Ohio Valley magazine, Cloverleaf, Core Impact, ORGANIC, and WG Content. Previously Kara served as managing editor at Popular Woodworking Magazine (and even built a few things!) and Writer’s Digest magazine (where she currently writes the Meet the Agent column). Her essays and poetry have appeared in This I Believe: Life Lessons (Wiley), TIME magazine’s parenting blog, The New York Times parenting blog, Scary Mommy, Literary Mama, Motherwell and The Huffington Post.
